Wipro Limited, a prominent technology services and consulting company, has announced the appointment of Sanjeev Jain as its Chief Operating Officer (COO), effective immediately. Sanjeev takes over from Amit Choudhary, who is stepping down from the organization to pursue new opportunities. In his new role, Sanjeev will report to Srinivas Pallia and will continue to be a member of Wipro’s Executive Committee.
Sanjeev brings to Wipro over 30 years of extensive experience in corporate finance, investment banking, and real estate sectors. He joined Wipro in 2023 as the Global Head of Business Operations and has since demonstrated remarkable leadership in leading large and diverse teams, scaling up global operations, and implementing Lean Six Sigma and design thinking principles to drive operational excellence and business transformation.
During his tenure at Wipro, Sanjeev has been instrumental in leading the talent supply chain, including Wipro’s gig work platform, TopGear, and spearheading talent skilling, global mobility, talent acquisition, and business resilience functions. He has also played a pivotal role in the development and deployment of Wipro’s AI training and upskilling strategy.
In his capacity as Chief Operating Officer, Sanjeev will be tasked with continuing Wipro’s journey of building a client-centric delivery organization focused on driving sustainable, profitable, and delivery-led growth. He will oversee Global Business Operations, the Chief Information Office, the Chief Information Security Office, and the Enterprise Risk Management function, while closely collaborating with Wipro’s leadership teams across the organization on transformation initiatives.
Srinivas Pallia, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Wipro Limited, expressed his confidence in Sanjeev’s capabilities, highlighting his significant impact on strategic thinking and execution prowess during his tenure with the company. Pallia also extended appreciation to Amit Choudhary for his leadership over the past two years and his contributions to building a strong operations foundation and structure within Wipro.

Prior to joining Wipro, Sanjeev held leadership roles at Kyndryl Holdings (IBM spin-off), IBM, Cognizant, and GE, where he drove profitable growth by integrating end-to-end talent supply chains, driving margin expansion, streamlining processes, and enhancing operational efficiency.
Sanjeev is a distinguished alumnus of IIM-Mumbai and a certified Master Black Belt from GE. He will be based in Bengaluru.
