Arvind Chandra has stepped into the role of Chief Executive Officer at Tenneco India, bringing with him over three decades of global leadership experience in the automotive and industrial sectors. His appointment marks a strategic move by Tenneco to strengthen its presence in India and drive transformative growth across its Clean Air, Monroe Ride Solutions, Champion Ignition, and Powertrain (Bearings and Sealings) verticals.
Chandra’s extensive background includes leadership positions at leading global companies such as Spark Minda, ZF/Wabco, Forvia, Delphi/Phinia, and Aliaxis. He has consistently driven high-impact business transformation initiatives, turnaround strategies, and smart mobility solutions. His international exposure spans across four continents, giving him a unique perspective on cross-border leadership and innovation. Most recently, he led Aliaxis India as CEO, managing a €600M+ business and a workforce of over 7,500.
With a deep understanding of smart manufacturing, mobility disruption, and digital innovation—including Factory IIOT and autonomous technologies—Chandra is well-positioned to propel Tenneco India into its next phase of evolution. He has also advised numerous startups and Fortune 500 companies on business strategy and transformation through his consulting firm based in Germany.
Commenting on the appointment, a senior Tenneco executive noted that Arvind’s ability to lead large-scale operations while fostering innovation and talent development makes him the ideal leader to build India as a global centre for excellence. “His deep-rooted understanding of both local and global markets is a powerful asset as we aim to expand our impact and capabilities from India.”
In his new role, Chandra will focus on accelerating growth, strengthening customer partnerships, and making India a strategic manufacturing and innovation hub within Tenneco’s global ecosystem. Reporting to him will be Rishi Verma, who will continue to lead operations and assume additional responsibilities in the powertrain vertical.
