ShyamsundaR Lahane has been appointed as the Lead Talent Acquisition Advisor at Ecolab, effective May 2025. With a robust track record of over a decade in strategic hiring across diverse industries such as chemicals, water treatment, Global Shared services and automotive, Shyam is set to steer Ecolab’s talent acquisition strategies to new heights. In his new role, he will be responsible for implementing high-impact recruitment initiatives, strengthening hiring processes, and aligning talent strategies with the company’s business goals in India.
Prior to his appointment at Ecolab, Shyam served as a Country HR Partner and Talent Acquisition Advisor within the same organization. During his tenure, he made significant contributions to recruitment cost optimization, talent pipeline development, and enhancing candidate experience. His efforts led to substantial cost savings, exceeding $130k in 2024 through strategic sourcing and minimizing dependency on external agencies. His focus on diversity and inclusion further contributed to building a workforce that embodies Ecolab’s values while maintaining a competitive edge in the industry.
Before joining Ecolab, Shyam honed his talent acquisition expertise at reputed organizations such as Cummins India, Marquardt India Pvt. Ltd., Tata Motors, Capgemini, and Mphasis. At Tata Motors, he led end-to-end recruitment for senior management and support functions across all plants and corporate offices. His strategic recruitment initiatives resulted in a marked reduction in cost-per-hire and improved recruitment turnaround times.
An alumnus of Symbiosis Centre for Distance Learning with a PGDBM in Human Resources Management, Shyam also holds a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) from Swami Vivekananda College, Udgir. Throughout his career, he has been recognized for his data-driven recruitment practices, leveraging social media, referrals, and internal job postings to identify top talent effectively.
With his extensive experience in commercial and technical hiring, strategic sourcing, and diversity initiatives, Shyam’s leadership at Ecolab is expected to further elevate the company’s talent acquisition framework, ensuring the alignment of hiring efforts with broader business objectives.
