GroupM Appoints Vinit Karnik to Lead Integrated Content and Sports Division in India

GroupM, WPP’s media investment group, has announced the establishment of GroupM Content and Sport in India, consolidating its Content, Sports, and Entertainment offerings. This strategic initiative aims to provide GroupM clients exclusive access to premium content opportunities, enhancing brand engagement through culturally relevant initiatives.

Vinit Karnik has been appointed as Managing Director of Content, Entertainment, and Sports for GroupM India. Karnik will leverage GroupM’s scale, expertise, and technology to develop unified strategies that capture consumer attention and foster brand affinity. Supporting him are Ajay Mehta, formerly of Mindshare, overseeing Content, and Subhamoy Das leading the Sports vertical.

This move is part of GroupM’s ongoing transformation to unify teams and capabilities, delivering integrated solutions that drive growth and innovation for clients.

Prasanth Kumar, CEO of GroupM South Asia, emphasized the significance of these appointments in adapting to evolving media ecosystems, enabling clients to integrate top ideas, properties, and partnerships aligned with consumer passions.
