Chandi H. Dharmaratne appointed as Chief People Officer at BCS Technology

BCS Technology has announced the appointment of Chandi H. Dharmaratne as their new Chief People Officer. With an illustrious career spanning several decades and multiple countries, Chandi brings a wealth of experience in human resources, leadership, and organizational development to her new role. Her appointment underscores BCS Technology’s commitment to fostering innovation and sustainable growth.
Chandi Dharmaratne began her professional journey in Manhattan, New York, in 1995. Her early career laid a solid foundation for her expertise in human resources and organizational development. In 2001, Chandi returned to Sri Lanka and joined MAS Holdings, where she oversaw the group’s learning and development initiatives. This role marked the beginning of her significant contributions to the HR field in Sri Lanka.
In 2013, Chandi joined Virtusa, initially as the Head of HR for Sri Lanka. Her exceptional leadership skills and strategic vision propelled her into advanced roles, including Global BU Head and Global Digital HR Head. Over a decade at Virtusa, Chandi played a pivotal role in shaping the company’s HR strategies and operations on a global scale.
Most recently, Chandi served as the Chief People Officer at Axiata Digital Labs, where she managed operations across Sri Lanka, Malaysia, and Indonesia. Her tenure at Axiata Digital Labs further solidified her reputation as a dynamic and forward-thinking HR leader.
In addition to her professional roles, Chandi has been actively involved in various boards and committees. She is a former Chairperson and current Board Member of the Lankan Angel Network and serves on the boards of The American Chamber of Commerce in Sri Lanka, SLASSCOM, the American Alumni Association, and the Association of HR Professionals in Sri Lanka. Chandi has also contributed to the Steering Committee on People Development of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce and participated in expert committees for ICTA and the Government of Sri Lanka, where she reviewed public sector salary disparities.
Chandi’s academic credentials are equally impressive. She holds an MBA and a bachelor’s degree in business administration and economics. She has also attended executive education programs at the prestigious INSEAD business school and is a certified coach. These qualifications, combined with her extensive practical experience, make her exceptionally well-suited for her new role at BCS Technology.
