Md. Monwar Hossain has been appointed as the Director of Human Resources at The Westin Dhaka – Marriott International Inc., located in Dhaka’s vibrant business and diplomatic district. The hotel is renowned for its upscale accommodations, fine dining options, and extensive event facilities, catering to both business and leisure travelers.
Hossain brings a wealth of experience in human resources management, particularly in the hospitality sector. Prior to joining The Westin Dhaka, he served as Group General Manager – HR & Admin at DX Group, where he oversaw general HR operations, formulated policies, managed recruitment, and implemented effective performance management and compensation strategies. His initiatives in employee engagement and training significantly enhanced productivity and reduced turnover.
Previously, Hossain held the role of Head of Human Resources at The Westin Dhaka – Marriott International Inc., where he successfully implemented updated HR policies and a work-from-home policy during the COVID-19 pandemic. He also developed standard operating procedures for service departments, contributing to strategic cost reductions and operational efficiency.
During his tenure at Radisson Blu Chattogram Bay View for three years, Hossain focused on optimizing HR costs and enhancing employee welfare through initiatives such as annual training programs, succession planning, and community engagement activities. His leadership at Royal Tulip Sea Pearl Beach Resort & Spa Ltd. and DuSai Resort & Spa further underscored his expertise in recruitment, training, and fostering a positive work environment.
