Iffco Tokio General Insurance Company has elevated Subrata Mondal to the position of Managing Director (MD) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Mondal, who has been with the company for over two decades, succeeds H O Suri in the leadership role. With more than 36 years of experience in the insurance sector, Mondal brings a wealth of expertise in areas such as commercial insurance, risk management, underwriting, product development, and reinsurance.
Since joining Iffco Tokio in 2001, Mondal has held several senior positions, most recently serving as the Chief Underwriter. In this capacity, he was responsible for managing underwriting operations across multiple business lines, including property, engineering, marine, liability, credit, health, and miscellaneous insurance.
Expressing his enthusiasm for the new role, Mondal stated, “I look forward to leading our dedicated team as we continue to provide customer-centric insurance solutions. Prior to his role at Iffco Tokio, Mondal held key positions at the National Insurance Company, where he gained invaluable experience in underwriting, claims management, and risk engineering for large-scale projects. His career in the industry began at the Steel Authority of India (SAIL), where he worked as a shift engineer in the Durgapur Steel Plant, managing electrical maintenance in the blast furnace department.
This leadership change comes at a crucial time as Iffco Tokio navigates a dynamic and evolving insurance landscape, striving to expand its customer base and deliver tailored insurance solutions that meet the growing needs of individuals and businesses alike.
