Mahender Singh joins SJS Enterprise Ltd. as its Group Chief Operating Officer (Group COO). With over two decades of experience across various sectors, including automotive and engineering, Mahender’s appointment marks a new chapter in his distinguished career. His proven expertise in business operations, business development, leadership, and strategic management makes him a valuable addition to the leadership team at SJS Enterprise, where he will play a key role in driving operational excellence, new product development, and business growth.
Before joining SJS Enterprise, Mahender held the position of Country Head/General Manager at Fluiconnecto India Pvt Ltd. In this role, he took full ownership of the company’s economic drivers, managing key functions such as sales, research and development, manufacturing, finance, and supply chain management. Under his leadership, the company achieved substantial improvements in efficiency and customer satisfaction. Mahender’s approach to optimizing operations and his focus on financial objectives set new benchmarks for profitability and growth.
Mahender’s experience at Varroc Engineering Ltd as Vice President of Business Unit Operations further highlights his leadership capabilities. At Varroc, he managed multiple plants and played a pivotal role in enhancing operational performance, customer engagement, and strategic sourcing. His tenure was marked by strong product development initiatives and the successful execution of new product launches. He was instrumental in turning around business units to profitability, with a strong focus on digitalization, lean manufacturing, and Industry 4.0 technologies.
In his new role at SJS Enterprise, Mahender will oversee not only the company’s operational strategy but will also be responsible for spearheading new product development across its divisions and subsidiaries, driving both innovation and sustained profitability. SJS Enterprise Ltd. includes two subsidiaries, Walter Pack Automotive Products (I) Pvt. Ltd. and Exotech Plastics Pvt. Ltd., expanding its footprint within the automotive and plastic manufacturing sectors.
Educationally, Mahender is well-equipped for his leadership roles. He holds an Executive MBA in Global Business Management from the prestigious Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Calcutta, along with dual MBAs in Operations and Project Management from Punjab Technical University and Sikkim Manipal University, respectively. Additionally, his mechanical engineering background, paired with several specialized certifications, including Six Sigma Black Belt and Lean Professional, complements his practical experience in driving operational excellence.
In his previous roles, Mahender demonstrated an ability to lead large teams and manage high-value P&L operations, handling businesses worth over INR 3,000 crore and leading over 5,000 employees. His leadership at Hella India Lighting Ltd also stands out, where he turned around EBIT from deep negative to near double digits within a short span. His efforts in global relocations, customer acquisitions, and technology transfers further solidified his standing as a leader in the industry.
