Shibashish Roy has been named the Chief Executive Officer of Croma, India’s leading consumer electronics retailer under the Tata Group’s Infiniti Retail banner. Effective from mid-November 2024, Roy’s appointment follows a carefully planned succession strategy in light of current MD and CEO Avijit Mitra’s upcoming retirement in early 2025. Mitra, who has led Croma’s expansion and growth over the past nine years, will remain on the Board until his retirement, ensuring a smooth transition of responsibilities and continuity in leadership.
Currently serving as Deputy CEO, Shibashish has been pivotal in overseeing various core functions within Croma, including store operations, eCommerce, marketing, buying, merchandising, and technology. His experience in these areas has equipped him to build upon Croma’s strong foundation and contribute to its next phase of growth. With a customer-centric approach and focus on innovation, Roy has been instrumental in advancing Croma’s omnichannel initiatives, enhancing both its digital and in-store experiences to meet evolving consumer demands.
Under Mitra’s leadership, Croma has solidified its position as one of India’s top consumer electronics retailers, known for its extensive network of stores nationwide and strong operational capabilities. As Roy takes on the CEO role, he is expected to continue Croma’s momentum, driving new initiatives to strengthen brand loyalty, enhance customer engagement, and foster profitable growth across the company’s retail channels.
With a proven track record of effective leadership and a strategic vision for the future, Roy’s appointment is well-timed to steer Croma through a dynamic retail landscape. This leadership transition marks a promising new chapter for Croma, aiming to deepen its market reach and enhance its presence as a top player in India’s consumer electronics sector.
