Dinesh Balsingh has been appointed as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Airtel Nigeria, marking his return to the Nigerian telecommunications market. Along with this role, he has also become a member of the Airtel Africa Group’s Executive Council, signifying his integral role in shaping the company’s strategic direction.
Balsingh takes over from Carl Cruz, who completed his tenure and returned to The Philippines. With over 24 years of experience in telecommunications, Balsingh brings a wealth of industry expertise and operational insight to Airtel Nigeria. Prior to this role, he served as the Managing Director and CEO of Airtel Tanzania, where he achieved record growth through strategic pricing, product innovations, and disciplined execution, securing significant market gains.
His previous roles include Chief Commercial Officer at Airtel Nigeria, Marketing Director at Airtel Nigeria, and leadership positions at Hutchison Essar, Airtel India, and Tata Docomo. These experiences have equipped him with a deep understanding of the Nigerian telecommunications landscape, making him well-suited to drive Airtel Nigeria’s growth and enhance its impact across the region.
