Arundhati Bhattacharya Appointed CEO of Salesforce’s South Asia Operating Unit

Arundhati Bhattacharya, Chairperson and CEO of Salesforce India, has been appointed as the CEO of Salesforce’s newly formed South Asia Operating Unit. This appointment is part of Salesforce’s broader restructuring to streamline its operations across India and Southeast Asia (ASEAN), aiming for greater growth and integration in these dynamic markets.

The South Asia Operating Unit will oversee Salesforce’s operations in India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Singapore, the Philippines, Malaysia, Vietnam, Thailand, and Indonesia. Bhattacharya’s new role is expected to drive collaboration and build on the company’s success in India to create a unified strategy for the expanded region. She will continue to lead from India, a key strategic location for the company.

Supporting this restructuring, Arun Kumar Parameswaran, Managing Director of Salesforce India’s Sales Division, has been tasked with overseeing the ASEAN sales leadership team while continuing to report to Bhattacharya. This approach ensures consistent leadership and seamless operations under the new structure.

India has been a standout growth market for Salesforce under Bhattacharya’s leadership, demonstrating remarkable achievements in revenue and business development. By applying proven strategies from the Indian market, the company aims to unlock similar opportunities across other regions in the operating unit.

Localization will play a crucial role in Salesforce’s growth strategy, with the company focusing on tailoring its offerings to meet the unique needs of each market. This includes data localization and developing region-specific features to enhance customer engagement and satisfaction.

Salesforce has been steadily growing its presence in ASEAN, with offices in Singapore, Thailand, and Indonesia. This new operating unit reflects Salesforce’s commitment to expanding its footprint and driving innovation across some of the fastest-growing economies.

With Arundhati Bhattacharya now leading as CEO of the South Asia Operating Unit, Salesforce is well-positioned to achieve transformative growth, foster collaboration, and strengthen its leadership in the region’s digital transformation journey.
