DaVita Welcomes Madhu Narasimhan as New Chief Information Officer

DaVita, a prominent provider of kidney care services, is poised for a significant technological advancement with the appointment of Madhu Narasimhan as its Chief Information Officer (CIO), effective June 3, 2024. Narasimhan’s arrival marks a strategic move aimed at accelerating technology-based innovations within the organization.

In her new role, Narasimhan will spearhead the implementation of DaVita’s cutting-edge health technology platforms, with a focus on driving digital transformation and enhancing patient care experiences. Among her key responsibilities will be overseeing DaVita’s technology innovation strategy, including the deployment of the Center Without Walls™ (CWOW®) platform, a proprietary cloud-based patient data system designed to streamline workflows and facilitate seamless data access across care teams and points of care.

With nearly two decades of experience in digital transformation, integrated technology, product management, and strategic delivery, Narasimhan brings a wealth of expertise to her new role. Previously, she served as the Global Head of Innovation for Wells Fargo and played a pivotal role in leading product, technology, and enterprise clinical systems at Kaiser Permanente.

Commenting on her appointment, Narasimhan expressed her enthusiasm for leveraging her past experiences and DaVita’s industry-leading technology to enhance patient care delivery, particularly for individuals with complex healthcare needs. She emphasized her commitment to leading transformative initiatives across DaVita, aimed at integrating data and optimizing workflows to foster greater collaboration across care sites.

Narasimhan holds a master’s degree in computer science from the University of California, Riverside, and a bachelor’s degree in engineering from Birla Institute of Technology, India. She has further honed her leadership skills through executive programs at prestigious institutions such as Harvard Business School and Stanford Business School. Additionally, Narasimhan holds multiple technology patents and has been recognized as a thought leader in the field, having been invited to discussions on artificial intelligence hosted by Vice President Kamala Harris.
