At GEODIS, Amit is tasked with leading and strategizing the company’s airfreight operations across the Indian Sub-continent. Amit’s tenure at DB Schenker spans over a decade, where he held multiple leadership roles, including Director – South India and General Manager – Airfreight Operations & Procurement for India. As Director – South India, Amit led the local business requirements across all logistics products, including contract logistics, land transportation, airfreight, ocean freight, global projects, and industrial solutions. His responsibilities included strategic planning, operational efficiency, new product introductions, and customer relationship management. Under his leadership, Amit drove productivity through automation, cost optimization, and process standardization while ensuring compliance with company policies and governance.
As General Manager – Airfreight Operations & Procurement at DB Schenker, Amit was responsible for managing the overall airfreight operations, including charter flight procurement and flight operations. He spearheaded operational excellence initiatives, e-freight adoption, and digitalization projects, positioning the organization as a leader in modernized logistics solutions. Amit’s ability to optimize costs, lead centralized teams, and align processes with the ever-evolving airfreight dynamics highlighted his exceptional operational acumen.
Before DB Schenker, Amit spent over seven years at DHL Global Forwarding in a variety of roles that shaped his expertise in airfreight. As Manager – Airfreight Commercial Centre, Amit managed key responsibilities such as rate negotiations with carriers, capacity management, sales tariff optimization, and trade lane development. During his tenure, he implemented Six Sigma principles to improve processes, earning certifications. His earlier roles as Assistant Manager – Operations Compliances and Airfreight Specialist provided him with hands-on experience in air export operations, compliance management, claims handling, and operational audits, giving him a solid foundation in the industry.
