The board of directors of CG Power and Industrial Solutions (CG Power) has appointed Amar Kaul as the new managing director (MD) and chief executive officer (CEO) for a term of five years, starting from July 25, 2024. Kaul succeeds N Srinivasan, who has been leading the company since its acquisition by Tube Investments of India Ltd in November 2020.
Kaul brings over 30 years of diverse work experience, including 12 years of international exposure. He began his career as a quality consultant and has held various roles across manufacturing, application engineering, supplier and quality development, and the deployment of Six Sigma and lean manufacturing principles.
Before joining CG Power, Kaul held executive leadership positions at Ingersoll Rand, where he managed the EMEIA (Europe, Middle East, India, and Africa) region for compression systems and services. He also served as the chairman and managing director of Ingersoll Rand in India, a publicly listed company. Additionally, Kaul has held senior leadership positions at Bharat Forge Ltd. and Delphi. His ability to strategize, execute, and manage high growth and foster innovation is well-regarded across the engineering, capital goods, and automotive industries, sectors that are crucial for CG Power.
Kaul holds a B. Tech in Mechanical Engineering from G.B. Pant University and an MS degree in Engineering Business Management from Warwick University in the UK.
Under the chairmanship of Vellayan Subbiah, who will continue to provide strategic guidance and oversight, CG Power aims to maintain its growth trajectory. N Srinivasan, during his tenure, led a remarkable turnaround at CG Power, significantly increasing revenue, Ebitda margins, capacity, profitability, and business diversification. The share price of CG Power has seen a 20-fold increase since Srinivasan took over as managing director. He has built a high-quality senior management team that will ensure continuity and support during the leadership transition. Srinivasan will be available to assist with the transition as needed.
Kaul’s appointment marks a new chapter for CG Power, as the company continues its focus on growth and innovation in the engineering and industrial solutions sector.
