Arnab Roy, a veteran of The Coca-Cola Company since 2001, has been promoted to the role of Global Category President for Coca-Cola, succeeding Selman Careaga, effective September 1. Roy’s extensive experience includes his recent position as Vice President of Marketing for the India & Southwest Asia region.
Manolo Arroyo, Coca-Cola’s Executive Vice President and Global Chief Marketing Officer, praised Roy’s leadership and team-building skills, citing his proven track record in driving growth. Roy’s tenure in India saw significant achievements, including consistent double-digit business growth and market leadership in sparkling and juice categories. He was instrumental in the company’s marketing transformation in partnership with WPP OpenX.
Prior to his current role, Roy held key positions such as Global Vice President for Trademark Coca-Cola and Senior Director for Sparkling Beverages in the ASEAN region. His responsibilities spanned multiple countries like the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam, where he successfully led the sparkling beverage business.
Roy’s career highlights include overseeing Coca-Cola’s global sports and entertainment marketing for the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil. He also played pivotal roles in launching Minute Maid and expanding Maaza in India, contributing significantly to the brand’s growth and market presence.
Educated at the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad and Harvard Business School, Roy brings a wealth of strategic acumen to his new role, based in Atlanta. His elevation underscores Coca-Cola’s commitment to leveraging seasoned leadership to drive global category growth and innovation.
