Gurpratap S. Boparai Joins Suzlon Energy as CEO

Gurpratap S. Boparai has joined Suzlon Energy Limited as Chief Executive Officer – Manufacturing Business, bringing extensive automotive and manufacturing leadership experience. He will oversee Suzlon’s manufacturing operations and drive strategic initiatives to enhance production capabilities.

Previously, Gurpratap was CEO – Automotive Businesses, Europe, and Mahindra Truck, Bus and Construction Equipment at Mahindra and Mahindra Limited. He managed business operations, market expansion, and strategic initiatives in Europe and commercial vehicles.

Before Mahindra, he served as Managing Director at Volkswagen Group India (Skoda Auto Volkswagen India Pvt Ltd), focusing on enhancing market presence in India’s automotive sector. Gurpratap also held roles at Fiat India Automobiles Pvt Ltd, including CEO and VP of the Powertrain Division, contributing to the company’s success in India.

Earlier in his career, Gurpratap held leadership positions at Ocap Chassis Parts and Iveco in Italy, focusing on manufacturing and logistics. He began at Tata Cummins Ltd and Tata Motors, where he was involved in setting up facilities and managing engine division operations.
