Kevin Vaz has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer at JioStar – Entertainment Business TV & Digital. In this new capacity, Kevin will lead JioStar’s entertainment business, overseeing both television and digital platforms. His extensive experience in media and entertainment, particularly in India’s dynamic broadcasting and OTT sectors, positions him as the ideal leader to drive the company’s growth. Under his leadership, JioStar aims to further innovate and expand its reach in India’s rapidly evolving entertainment industry.
Before joining JioStar, Kevin held key leadership roles at prominent media companies. He most recently served as the President & Head of Network Entertainment Channels at Star India under The Walt Disney Company. In this role, he managed a wide portfolio of channels, focusing on programming, content strategies, and overall network growth, contributing to Star India’s dominant position in India’s entertainment industry.
Kevin also held the position of CEO of Viacom18 Media’s Entertainment Business at Viacom18, where he played a crucial role in expanding the company’s content offerings and strengthening its digital initiatives, particularly in the OTT space. Additionally, his leadership as CEO of Regional Entertainment Channels at Star India showcased his ability to connect with regional audiences and enhance content tailored to local preferences, significantly impacting markets such as Maharashtra, Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Kerala, and Karnataka.
