Adani Group has appointed KS Rao as the Chief Executive Officer and Wholetime Director of Adani Infra (India) Limited (AIIL). With an impressive career spanning over three decades, Rao brings a wealth of experience in driving transformative projects and scaling infrastructure capabilities.
In his new role at AIIL, Rao will lead the company’s ambitious journey to enhance project execution capabilities and scale operations to meet the growing demands of the Adani Group. AIIL, serving as the Group’s Project Management and Assurance arm, will benefit from Rao’s leadership in consolidating project management, execution, and assurance activities. His focus will be on implementing a comprehensive framework that emphasizes agility, cost efficiency, value engineering, and strict adherence to execution timelines.
Rao’s previous roles include serving as the President & Group Head of Infrastructure at Adani Group, where he played a crucial role in steering the Group’s infrastructure projects, including airports, ports, logistics, and data centers, towards achieving a fivefold increase in scale. His experience also extends to his tenure at STL – Sterlite Technologies Limited, where he was instrumental in transforming the company into a leader in digital infrastructure, overseeing significant growth and innovation in optical fibers and connectivity solutions.
Rao’s strategic vision and commitment to harnessing emerging technologies will drive AIIL’s focus on building a robust project management framework, enhancing vendor capabilities, and digitizing the entire project lifecycle. His leadership is expected to foster a culture of excellence, ensuring that projects are delivered with the highest standards of quality and efficiency.
KS Rao holds a B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University. His appointment marks a significant step in Adani Group’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its infrastructure capabilities and drive sustainable growth.
