Lalatendu Das has been appointed as the CEO of Publicis Media South Asia, marking a significant step in his leadership journey within Publicis Groupe. In his new role, Lalatendu will continue reporting to Anupriya Acharya, CEO of Publicis Groupe South Asia, and will work closely with key media leaders such as Jai Lala, Rathi Gangappa, and Sejal Shah. This move underscores Publicis Groupe’s commitment to strengthening its media and digital strategies across the region.
Lalatendu’s remarkable career spans over 25 years, with notable expertise in digital transformation, consulting, and large-scale operations. He joined Publicis Groupe in early 2022 as CEO of Performics India, where he rapidly advanced the agency to the forefront of performance marketing and integrated digital solutions. Under his leadership, Performics India expanded its portfolio and garnered key accounts, solidifying its position in the competitive market. Prior to his time at Publicis, Lalatendu spent nearly a decade at McKinsey, where he co-led the Digital/Technology practice in the Asia Pacific region, focusing on advanced analytics and customer journey transformations. His extensive experience also includes significant roles at Tata Consultancy Services, where he honed his operational leadership.
In his new position, Lalatendu will oversee Publicis Media South Asia’s diverse media offerings, which span strategy, data analytics, and advanced technologies. His background in digital-led transformation and extensive consulting expertise positions him to drive further growth and innovation within Publicis Media. Lalatendu’s leadership will be key to expanding the agency’s capabilities and delivering groundbreaking solutions to clients across the region.
This transition comes as Tanmay Mohanty, the former CEO of Publicis Media Services South Asia, steps down to explore new opportunities. Tanmay played a pivotal role in scaling media services across Zenith India and Starcom India. His departure marks a new phase for Publicis Media South Asia, with Lalatendu Das poised to lead the organization to new heights in the fast-evolving media landscape.
