Japanese business and technology services firm NTT DATA has announced the appointment of Abhijit Dubey as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of its operations outside Japan. This strategic move follows the merger of NTT DATA and NTT Ltd., creating a global powerhouse valued at over $30 billion under the NTT DATA name. Dubey, who previously served as CEO of NTT Ltd., will now lead 150,000 employees worldwide.
NTT DATA, which has expanded its international footprint to approximately $18 billion, holds the world’s sixth-largest market share in the IT services industry. The company, part of NTT with a 150-year history and an annual R&D investment of $3.6 billion, is well-positioned to help organizations address current challenges while innovating for the future.
Dubey brings extensive industry expertise to his new role. Before joining NTT in 2021, he spent over 20 years at global advisory firm McKinsey & Company, where he advised top technology companies and CEOs and led the firm’s global cloud computing initiatives. His background in strategic, technical, and business leadership is expected to drive NTT DATA’s growth and innovation.
Dubey expressed enthusiasm about leading the company during a period of significant technological change, emphasizing NTT DATA’s capabilities in consulting, infrastructure, AI, cloud, and cybersecurity as key factors in delivering impactful solutions. He highlighted the importance of technology driving positive change and sees NTT DATA as well-positioned to make a meaningful impact.
Kazuhiro Nishihata, Dubey’s predecessor, expressed confidence in Dubey’s ability to accelerate NTT DATA’s global growth while fostering innovation and ongoing success. He believes Dubey is the right person to lead NTT DATA through its next phase of development.
