Wipro Limited, a leading IT services and consulting firm, has announced the appointment of Omkar Nisal as the Chief Executive Officer of its Europe Strategic Market Unit (SMU). Omkar Nisal succeeds Pierre Bruno, who is stepping down after serving in the role for several years. Omkar will report to Wipro CEO and Managing Director Srini Pallia and will also join the company’s Executive Board.
Omkar Nisal has been associated with Wipro since 2012 and has played a pivotal role in driving digital transformation, particularly within the banking sector across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA). In his most recent role as Senior Vice President and Managing Director for the UK and Ireland, he managed regional operations with significant profit and revenue contributions. Based in London, Omkar will now lead Wipro’s European operations, focusing on growth and strengthening the company’s position in the region.
Pierre Bruno, who joined Wipro in 2021 from DXC Technology, made substantial contributions to the European market and will work closely with Omkar during the transition period. His tenure was marked by notable achievements in consulting, integration, cloud, and cybersecurity services.
This leadership transition comes as Wipro continues to build on its momentum, positioning itself as a key player in the global IT services market.
