Akasa Air has appointed Sejal Haribhakti Mody as the new Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO). Sejal will lead the airline’s human resources strategy as Akasa aims to rank among the world’s top 30 airlines by the end of the decade.
In her new role, Sejal will drive organizational transformation, talent management, and leadership development, while reinforcing Akasa’s people-centric culture. She brings over 20 years of HR leadership experience, having previously served as HR Head for Supply Chain, Legal, and ESG/Sustainability for South Asia at Hindustan Unilever Ltd., where she focused on talent strategy and culture-building initiatives.
Vinay Dube, Founder and CEO of Akasa Air, expressed confidence in Sejal’s ability to scale the company’s operations, citing her deep expertise and passion for building strong teams.
Sejal, who holds an MBA in Finance and Change Management from the Indian School of Business and a BBA Honors in Management Information Systems from Texas McCombs School of Business, has held key roles at Disney Star, McKinsey & Co., and Accenture. She shared her enthusiasm for joining Akasa, highlighting the growth of India’s aviation industry and her excitement to foster an inclusive work culture.
