Basant K. Tripathi has recently joined GBG Plc, a leading expert in digital identity, as the new Director of Employee Experience. With a strong background in human resources and organizational development, Basant brings a wealth of knowledge to the team, aiming to improve the company’s HR strategies and support its employees. GBG Plc specializes in providing reliable technologies and global data coverage that enable businesses to identify customers, verify customer locations, and protect against fraud.
Before his tenure at GBG Plc, Basant was a Mentor at the Institute for Sustainability Leadership at the University of Cambridge for about four years. In this capacity, he helped innovators, entrepreneurs, and SMEs integrate sustainability into their business operations. GBG Plc, with over 30 years of experience in identity verification, location intelligence, and fraud prevention, unites a team of over 1,250 trust experts with local industry insights from around the world.
Basant’s career also includes nearly nine years at AVEVA, where he held several key positions. As the Global Strategic HR Business Partner (Director HR), he supported the global executive leadership team by aligning organizational capabilities and processes with business strategy. Previously, he served as the Global Head of Talent Acquisition and Engagement, overseeing global strategies for talent acquisition, corporate social responsibility, and diversity and inclusion. This extensive experience positions Basant well to contribute to GBG Plc’s mission of safeguarding digital identities.
Earlier in his career, Basant worked at Schneider Electric for about three years as the HR Head of the Software Business. He was responsible for the entire HR function for the software business in India and the Asia-Pacific region, managing various business functions and integration projects. He also served as an HR Business Partner at Nokia for approximately three years, where he represented HR functions to business vertical leadership and implemented global HR interventions. Now at GBG Plc, Basant’s comprehensive experience in HR will be instrumental in driving forward the company’s goals and ensuring a secure and efficient digital identity landscape for businesses and consumers alike.
