Hays has appointed Deborah Dorman as Chief People Officer

Deborah Dorman has been named Chief People Officer (CPO) at Hays, a specialist in recruitment and workforce solutions. Previously, she spent over 16 years at Sainsbury’s, starting as Head of Internal Communications and progressing to roles overseeing HR policy, colleague engagement, and inclusion efforts. Her journey at Sainsbury’s included positions such as Head of Great Place to Work, Head of HR partnering with commercial functions, and Director of Corporate HR.

Dorman began her career at Keene Communications in 1996 as an Account Director, later moving to roles at Hypa Creative and Serac Communications in client services. Her extensive experience spans strategic HR roles from talent management and performance to recruitment and diversity & inclusion initiatives. She has been Director of Group HR at Sainsbury’s since June 2020, overseeing significant HR operations.

In addition to her corporate responsibilities, Dorman serves as a part-time board trustee at Shaw Trust, demonstrating her commitment to broader organizational impact. Her career path reflects a strong dedication to enhancing workplace culture and driving strategic HR initiatives within large organizations.

Dorman’s appointment as CPO at Hays marks a continuation of her impactful leadership journey in the field of HR and organizational development.
