Meenakshi Priyam Joins Mahindra Group as CHRO for Automotive Business

Meenakshi Priyam has been named Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) for Mahindra Group’s automotive business. With her vast expertise in human resources, Meenakshi is expected to play a key role in enhancing HR practices and fostering a strong organizational culture within Mahindra’s automotive sector. Known for her strategic vision and background in compensation and benefits, she is well-positioned to contribute meaningfully to Mahindra’s HR capabilities in a rapidly evolving industry.

Before joining Mahindra, Meenakshi held the role of Group CHRO at Udaan.com, a prominent e-commerce B2B platform. During her tenure, she was instrumental in shaping Udaan’s HR landscape, with a focus on driving growth and enabling MSMEs across India through technological support. Her commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) also stood out, as she chaired the DEI Committee at Bombay CCI since 2022, underscoring her dedication to building inclusive work environments.

Meenakshi brings a wealth of industry experience, having served in various leadership roles across sectors. She began her career with Axis Bank and later held roles at Watson Wyatt and Yes Bank, where she was among the organization’s first few employees. Her career progressed as she moved into the pharmaceutical industry, holding influential HR positions at Johnson & Johnson, Novartis, and GlaxoSmithKline (GSK). In her time at Johnson & Johnson, she rose to regional HR director for the Asia-Pacific region, and at Novartis, she led HR for global product strategy while based in Switzerland. At GSK, she advanced to CHRO for India and global HR head for classic products.

Her diverse experiences have equipped her with unique insights into the challenges and opportunities within Mahindra’s automotive business. In her new role, Meenakshi’s leadership is anticipated to bring fresh perspectives, strengthening Mahindra’s HR strategies to support the company’s growth and innovation goals. This appointment signals Mahindra’s commitment to advancing its people-centric initiatives and supporting its workforce in a competitive market.

Meenakshi’s transition to Mahindra Group represents a significant step in her accomplished career, setting the stage for impactful contributions within one of India’s leading automotive enterprises.
