Karunakaran Azhisur has been appointed as the new Chief Information Officer (CIO) for Guardian India, a key global capability center for The Guardian Life Insurance Company of America. In his new role, Karunakaran will report to Shiney Prasad, the Country Head of Guardian India, and will oversee the technology strategy and operations for the company in India.
With years of experience in global technology leadership, Karunakaran brings a wealth of expertise to his new position. He has previously held significant roles, including serving as the Global CIO for the Hydro Power Business at GE Vernova. His career at GE also saw him in various senior positions, including Regional CIO for Asia, the Middle East, and Africa, as well as leading GE Gas Power’s Global Software Engineering division and GE’s India Digital Hub. He has been an instrumental figure in shaping digital transformation strategies for large corporations across the world.
In his new role, Karunakaran will help drive Guardian India’s commitment to innovation and technology adoption, further aligning with the company’s strategic vision to enhance operational efficiency and deliver exceptional services. His background in managing digital and IT initiatives at a global scale makes him a valuable addition to the company’s leadership team.
