David Cohn, the chief information officer of the Shoprite Group, is retiring after a distinguished 20-year career with the company. During his tenure, David played a pivotal role in Shoprite’s technological advancements and commitment to customer service excellence. He led numerous large-scale projects that enhanced service reliability and efficiency, drawing on over 30 years of experience in the retail industry.
David’s leadership kept Shoprite at the forefront of global technology trends, aligning business strategies with innovative technological solutions. Under his guidance, Shoprite’s project management office received prestigious accolades, including the SAP Africa Business Transformation Award in 2018 and the Africa PMO of the Year Award in 2020.
Before joining Shoprite, David spent time at Accenture as an associate partner, where he honed his skills before dedicating two decades to shaping Shoprite’s technological landscape. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business science from the University of Cape Town.
