Amir Alvi has been appointed as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Fertilisers at Coromandel International Limited, one of India’s leading agricultural solutions providers. In his new role, Amir will oversee operations, marketing, supply chain, HR, and finance functions, with a focus on ensuring the seamless availability of million tonnes of phosphatic fertilisers to farmers across India. Amir Alvi’s leadership will also drive innovation by introducing new technologies aimed at enhancing farmers’ productivity through premium products.
With over a decade of experience at Coromandel International, Amir has steadily climbed the ranks within the organisation. Prior to his appointment as COO, he served as President & Head of Manufacturing & Supply Chain, where he was instrumental in streamlining manufacturing processes and supply chain logistics. His contributions have played a key role in maintaining Coromandel’s leadership in the fertiliser sector.
Before joining Coromandel, Amir had a successful career at Tata Chemicals, where he spent many years in various leadership roles. As Site Head at Tata Chemicals‘ Haldia facility, he oversaw the production of a million tonnes of phosphatic fertilisers annually. His earlier experience at Tata, including his tenure as Head of Production, further solidified his expertise in large-scale manufacturing and operations.
Amir Alvi’s extensive background in manufacturing and supply chain, coupled with his strategic vision, positions him to make significant contributions to Coromandel International’s continued success in the fertiliser industry.
