Zomato has appointed Abhishek Dwivedi as the new Business Head for Electric Vehicles (EVs). This appointment, effective from June 2024, marks a significant step in Zomato’s commitment to achieving 100% electric vehicle adoption in its delivery fleet by 2030, in alignment with the Climate Group’s global EV100 initiative.
Abhishek Dwivedi brings a wealth of experience to this role, with a notable track record in scaling businesses and driving innovation across various sectors. Before joining Zomato, Dwivedi held prominent positions in several high-impact organizations. His recent role as the Head of Strategic Alliances & Partnerships at Apollo 24|7 saw him spearheading growth opportunities and nurturing corporate accounts to boost revenue across multiple business verticals. His tenure at Apollo 24|7 also included roles as Head of Diagnostics and Head of Special Projects, where he was instrumental in leading diagnostics operations, improving service delivery, and driving business growth.
As a co-founder of AlternaCare, he revolutionized telemedicine and played a critical role in scaling the business globally, driving exponential growth and establishing AlternaCare as a leader in telemedicine.
At 1mg, where he served as Associate Vice President – Growth, Dwivedi was responsible for growing the pharma and diagnostics business through scalable and sustainable channels. His strategic contributions helped carve out new avenues for rapid growth, enhancing the company’s market position.
His earlier achievements include leading growth initiatives at Meddo Health, where he enhanced operational efficiencies, expanded service categories, and drove revenue growth. His involvement in Meddo’s product management and business development efforts contributed to making the company a significant player in the connected health platform space.
Dwivedi’s role at Zomato will involve building and scaling the company’s EV ecosystem, ensuring a seamless transition to a fully electric delivery fleet.
