Ankit Gemawat, a distinguished mining professional, has recently taken on the role of Chief Commercial Officer at Vedanta Zinc International. A graduate in Mining Engineering from Jai Narain Vyas University, India, and a PGDBM holder from the Emeritus Institute of Management, Singapore, Ankit brings extensive expertise in strategic planning, process optimization, and procurement leadership to his new position.
Before joining Vedanta Zinc International, Ankit held the role of General Manager – Special Projects at Adani Enterprises Limited, where he managed techno-commercial operations for 15 mining projects across various commodities, including coal, iron ore, and capital projects. His leadership has been pivotal in driving cost reduction and process optimization, exemplified by his transformation of Adani’s Bunyu Mine in Indonesia, recognized as a cost leader in its category.
Throughout his career, Ankit has demonstrated exceptional proficiency in implementing strategic policies, fostering stakeholder relationships, and aligning business operations with organizational goals. He has also been instrumental in developing world-class procurement processes and advancing mining technologies. His tenure at the Adani Group included a notable period as part of the Chairman’s Office, where he collaborated on mining operations across India, Indonesia, and Australia.
In his new role, Ankit is expected to leverage his vast experience and business acumen to drive commercial excellence at Vedanta Zinc International, contributing to the company’s vision for growth and sustainability in the mining sector.
