Hideaki Nishino has been appointed as the President and CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment, effective April 1, 2025. This leadership transition is part of Sony Group Corporation’s strategic vision to enhance synergies within its gaming division. Nishino, who currently leads the Platform Business Group at SIE, will now oversee PlayStation’s global business operations, focusing on innovation, technology, and expanding the gaming ecosystem.
Hermen Hulst will continue as CEO of the Studio Business Group at SIE, leading the development and publishing of first-party content. Under his leadership, SIE’s studios have delivered some of the most successful PlayStation titles. In his new role, Nishino will collaborate closely with Hulst, ensuring alignment between PlayStation’s platform strategy and content development.
Alongside Nishino’s appointment, Sony Group Corporation has announced other key leadership changes. Hiroki Totoki, who currently serves as President, COO, and CFO of Sony Group Corporation, will step down as Chairman of SIE to take on the role of President and CEO of Sony Group Corporation. Lin Tao, currently Senior Vice President of Finance, Corporate Strategy, and Development at SIE, has been appointed as CFO of Sony Group Corporation. Her successor at SIE will be announced at a later date.
Nishino has been with Sony since 2000 and has played a key role in shaping PlayStation’s technology and platform experience. As CEO of the Platform Business Group, he has overseen hardware, services, third-party partnerships, and commercial operations. His leadership has been instrumental in strengthening PlayStation’s global presence and driving its strategic growth initiatives.
