Jimit Gandhi has taken on the role of Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at Akasa Air. In this new position, he will lead the airline’s efforts in ensuring robust cybersecurity measures across its operations, safeguarding its digital infrastructure, and enhancing data security. Jimit brings a wealth of experience in IT infrastructure security and regulatory compliance, making him well-suited to oversee the company’s security operations at a critical time of its growth.
Before joining Akasa Air, Jimit held significant roles at Bajaj Finserv, where he served as the National Lead for Cloud and Security. During his tenure, he managed cloud security and compliance, focusing on RBI regulatory requirements and leading efforts to secure cloud applications and infrastructure. Prior to Bajaj Finserv, Jimit contributed to cloud security and IT operations at cloudxchange.io and Accenture, where he led teams focused on cloud technologies and security, ensuring alignment with business needs and driving innovation in IT operations.
Jimit’s extensive experience also includes his leadership in security solution architecture at HCLTech, where he was responsible for designing secure IT infrastructures for clients in sectors such as BFSI and insurance. His expertise spans various technologies including Microsoft Azure, AWS, and PCI DSS compliance, making him an asset to Akasa Air as it continues to expand its digital capabilities.
Armed with an MBA in Information Technology from Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS) and executive education in Digital Transformation from the Indian School of Business (ISB), Jimit is not only a technocrat but also a strategic leader, known for his ability to manage large teams and complex projects. His appointment at Akasa Air marks an exciting new chapter in his career as he takes on the challenge of securing the airline’s digital future.
