Saju Mookken has been appointed at Marelli as India Country Manager. Tasked with advancing Marelli’s strategic goals and growth initiatives in India, Mookken’s leadership will be central to enhancing local governance, coordinating business efforts, and fostering employee engagement across the company’s Indian operations.
With over 25 years in the automotive industry, Saju Mookken has been an essential figure within Marelli for nearly two decades, where he played a critical role in establishing the company’s influence in the Indian market. His vast experience and insight into the automotive landscape make him well-suited to guide Marelli’s continued expansion in India, which now ranks as one of the largest automotive markets globally.
In addition to his new responsibilities as India Country Manager, Mookken will continue serving as the Head of Propulsion Solutions for the Asia-Pacific region (excluding China). This dual role will enable him to bring regional perspectives to India’s operations while ensuring alignment with Marelli’s strategic objectives across APAC.
Prior to joining Marelli, Mookken held a board position at Denso Group, where he oversaw functions including Finance, IT, Commercial Sales, and Purchasing. A Bachelor of Commerce graduate from Delhi University and a qualified chartered accountant, Mookken’s extensive expertise will be pivotal in strengthening Marelli’s market presence in India.
This appointment follows the leadership of Ravi Tallapragada, who has led Marelli’s India operations in recent years. Tallapragada will now focus on his global responsibilities as President of Marelli’s Electronic Systems business, as the company pivots toward innovations in Software-Defined Vehicles.
