Michelle Kumar has embarked on a new chapter in her career by joining LTIMindtree as Global head of corporate communications, bringing expertise in corporate communications, public relations, and crisis management. The move to LTIMindtree follows an impressive tenure at Swiggy, where Michelle played a pivotal role in steering communications and PR, contributing significantly toward the company’s public offering initiatives.
Prior to Swiggy, Michelle was integral to Amazon’s communication landscape. Michelle established and led public relations for Amazon’s retail operations in India, influencing the country’s e-commerce dynamics. Additionally, Michelle spearheaded PR for Amazon Pay, supporting Amazon’s expansion into the fintech sector. Leadership extended to communication campaigns for Amazon Prime and Amazon Devices and included setting up Amazon’s owned media presence in India through the company’s blog.
Michelle’s career includes significant contributions to IT giants such as Mphasis-HP, EMC, and IBM, where Michelle shaped communication strategies and managed global teams. The early years in PR included work at Rediffusion DY & R and co-founding Wirecom, a consultancy that collaborated with high-profile clients such as SAP, Airtel, and Coca-Cola.
With a Master’s in Social Work from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) and a Bachelor’s in Sociology from Jesus & Mary College (JMC), Michelle’s academic foundation has supported an adept approach to navigating complex communication landscapes. The move to LTIMindtree marks a new phase set to leverage background and leadership acumen.
