N K Panda joins as the Managing Director at Maccaferri Environmental Solutions for India and Nepal. He brings a wealth of experience in civil, geotechnical, and environmental construction markets, steering the company toward innovative and sustainable solutions. His strategic leadership is set to expand Maccaferri’s footprint across the region, fostering advancements that address modern infrastructure challenges.
Prior to joining Maccaferri, N K Panda played a pivotal role at Sterlite Power. As the Chief Business Acquisition Officer, he was responsible for driving the company’s growth by acquiring strategic power transmission projects. His tenure included a focus on creating a robust pipeline of initiatives, ensuring their feasibility, and delivering exceptional profitability. During his time at Sterlite Power, he also served as the Business Head for Convergence and Managing Director of Maharashtra Transmission Communication Infrastructure Limited (MTCIL), a joint venture between Maharashtra State Electricity Transmission Company Limited and Sterlite Power.
At MTCIL, N K Panda turned around a significantly delayed project and pioneered a new market for the use of optical ground wire (OPGW) fiber networks. His leadership enabled the successful completion of this critical infrastructure, ensuring its effective utilization by MSETCL and third-party communication providers such as telecom and internet service companies. His innovative approach contributed to year-on-year growth and set industry benchmarks for uptime and service quality.
N K Panda’s expertise also includes his tenure with Reliance Jio Infocomm, where he spearheaded strategic projects in customer acquisition, high-value customer onboarding, and planning the launch of 4G services across India. His efforts included market segmentation, competition mapping, and leveraging geographic information systems (GIS) for network connectivity and sales territory analysis. His work was instrumental in shaping the customer acquisition strategies that defined Jio’s early success.
In his earlier career, he contributed to Telenor (formerly Uninor) during its greenfield launch of mobility services in western India, covering Mumbai, Maharashtra, Goa, and Gujarat. As a key member of the Western Circle’s senior management team, he led revenue planning, project management, and organization structuring. Recognized for his contributions, N K Panda was featured in Uninor’s internal leadership stories and celebrated as a Value Ambassador.
