Nachiket Deshpande is poised to become the next CEO of LTIMindtree, India’s sixth-largest IT services company, succeeding Debashis Chatterjee. Deshpande, currently the company’s COO, is expected to take over before Chatterjee’s term officially ends in 2025. Deshpande and Chatterjee were former colleagues at Cognizant.
Deshpande’s potential appointment comes amidst significant leadership changes in India’s IT industry. Wipro, Tech Mahindra, Tata Consultancy Services, and Genpact have all seen CEO changes recently.
Deshpande, with over 28 years of experience, is highly regarded for his rational approach and track record. Sudhir Chaturvedi, LTIMindtree’s president for markets, is another contender for the CEO role, known for his role in strategic deals.
Deshpande will take charge amid a slowdown in sector growth and increased senior management attrition post-merger. Several top executives have resigned in recent times, including the CFO. CEO Chatterjee expressed confidence in the leadership bandwidth and reiterated that succession planning is routine.
Overall, Deshpande’s potential appointment signifies a key transition for LTIMindtree, amid ongoing industry changes and the need for steady leadership in a challenging environment.
