Nand Kishore has been appointed as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of SBI Funds Management Ltd., effective immediately. He succeeds Shamsher Singh in this role and will oversee the operations of SBI Mutual Fund, India’s largest fund house, which manages assets worth ₹11 lakh crore as of the end of October 2024.
Kishore brings over 34 years of extensive experience at State Bank of India (SBI), having held leadership roles across various banking functions such as branch banking, treasury, investment banking, and retail operations. He started his career at SBI as a probationary officer in 1990 and advanced to become Deputy Managing Director. His most recent position was at SBI’s Corporate Centre in Mumbai, where he served as Deputy Managing Director for Global Markets, overseeing the bank’s treasury operations.
Before joining SBI Funds Management, Kishore held significant roles, including Chief Dealer at SBI New York and Deputy General Manager & Chief Operating Officer at the Corporate Accounts Group in Delhi. His wide-ranging experience in banking operations positions him to lead the asset management company into its next phase of growth.
In his new role, Kishore aims to strengthen SBI Mutual Fund’s leadership in the market, expand its influence across various investment segments, and make the fund house the first choice for investors. He is focused on growing beyond mutual funds into areas such as portfolio management services, offshore funds, and alternative investment funds.
