Network18 has announced significant leadership appointments to fortify its strategic direction and operational excellence. Adil Zainulbhai has been reappointed as Chairman of the media conglomerate, continuing his tenure with enhanced responsibilities. Alongside him, Renuka Ramnath joins the board as an independent director, bringing her extensive expertise in private equity and corporate governance to the company.
Adil Zainulbhai, a seasoned leader with a rich background in management consulting and corporate strategy, will transition from his role as an independent director to a non-executive, non-independent director. This shift is seen as a move to provide Zainulbhai with greater influence over the company’s operations, leveraging his vast experience from his previous roles as Chairman of McKinsey India and the Quality Council of India.
In parallel, Renuka Ramnath, the founder of Multiples Alternate Asset Management, has been appointed as an independent director effective July 4, 2024, for a one-year term. She replaces Bhama Krishnamurthy, who resigned due to regulatory clearance issues. Ramnath’s addition to the board is expected to bring fresh perspectives and strategic insights, particularly in the realm of investment and asset management.
The company also extended the tenure of Rahul Joshi as Managing Director for another three years, ensuring continuity in leadership. Joshi, who has been with Network18 since 2018, will continue to drive the company’s growth and innovation initiatives.
These appointments underscore Network18’s commitment to strengthening its leadership team as it navigates the dynamic media landscape, aiming to consolidate its position as a leading broadcaster and content provider in India.
