Pam Kaur has been appointed as the Group Chief Risk and Compliance Officer at HSBC. With over a decade of experience at HSBC, she plays a critical role in overseeing the bank’s comprehensive risk management and compliance functions. As part of her responsibilities, Kaur leads a global team and contributes to the bank’s strategic objectives, ensuring that risk management aligns with the organization’s vision and goals.
Pam Kaur’s career spans more than three decades, during which she held senior roles in some of the world’s largest financial institutions. Before joining HSBC, she was the Global Head of Group Audit at Deutsche Bank, where she worked for couple of years. Prior to that, she held executive positions at RBS, including Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer in the Restructuring and Risk Division. She has also served as Group Head of Compliance and Anti-Money Laundering at Lloyds Banking Group, and spent several years at Citigroup, where she was the Chief Compliance Officer for Citigroup International and Global Director of Compliance for the Global Consumer Group.
In addition to her corporate achievements, Pam Kaur is deeply involved in diversity and inclusion efforts. She serves as the executive sponsor for HSBC’s Global Ethnicity Inclusion Programme and the global sponsor of the Embrace network, an initiative aimed at fostering a diverse workforce. Pam also holds a seat on the Board of Directors of Abrdn Plc, further broadening her influence within the financial services industry. Originally from India, Kaur holds an MBA in finance and a BCom (Hons) from Punjab University and currently resides in London.
