Punit Goenka has been reappointed as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd. (ZEEL), marking his return to the leadership role. His new term is set to begin and will span five years, subject to shareholder approval. Punit Goenka’s leadership in driving the company’s growth across diverse sectors like broadcasting, digital, movies, and music has been pivotal in its global expansion.
Goenka brings over two decades of experience in the media and entertainment industry, during which he has led ZEEL’s operations in over 190 countries. His strategic focus has consistently been on creating quality content, improving profitability, and positively impacting society. Punit Goenka’s industry influence extends beyond ZEEL, as he currently serves as a director on the board of the Indian Broadcasting & Digital Foundation (IBDF). His past roles include leadership positions with organizations like the Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) and the International Advertising Association (IAA).
In addition to Punit Goenka’s reappointment, ZEEL has also announced its financial results for the September quarter of FY25. ZEEL has also made strides in optimizing its digital platform, ZEE5, by reducing the EBITDA loss for this segment, signaling efforts toward long-term growth and sustainability.
