Rahul Thappa has been appointed as the Managing Director of Dentsu Media, Singapore, bringing his wealth of experience across media and broadcasting to this key leadership role. In his new position, Thappa will oversee Dentsu’s regional and global accounts, focusing on strategic investments and the growth of customer experience (CX) capabilities through Merkle, the company’s data-driven CX management division.
Thappa’s career spans significant leadership roles, including his tenure as Managing Director of Naviga, a global center of excellence backed by Vista Equity Partners. Based in Gurugram, he spent over three years driving operational excellence. He also founded VDO Focus Consulting, a firm that advised startups on digital campaign management and strategy, further demonstrating his entrepreneurial acumen.
In Southeast Asia, Thappa held pivotal roles at Astro in Malaysia as Vice President of Data Analytics and Sales Enablement and at Fox Network Group in Singapore as Senior Vice President of Ad Sales Strategy and Operations. These roles underline his expertise in media strategy, analytics, and operations across diverse markets.
Earlier in his career, Thappa contributed to renowned organizations such as Mindshare, where he spent over six years in Malaysia and advanced to the role of Managing Partner. His experience also includes leadership roles at Mail Today and Mindshare India, showcasing his deep understanding of the media landscape.
An alumnus of MICA and IIM Ahmedabad, with a foundation in mathematics, Thappa combines his academic excellence with a rich professional portfolio, making him a strategic fit for his new role at Dentsu Media.
