Smita Verma Kansal has been named the Chief Business Officer at Groyyo, an Asian cross-border manufacturing and supply chain platform for the fashion and lifestyle sector. She brings with her extensive expertise from her previous roles, including as Senior Vice President and founding member at Geniemode, along with her leadership contributions at Brands and Sourcing Leaders Association (BSL). Based in Abu Dhabi, Smita will play a pivotal role in expanding Groyyo’s partnerships and strengthening its international brand presence.

In addition to Smita’s appointment, Groyyo has also brought on board Alessandro Bertini as Vice President – Commercial. Alessandro has a strong background in business development, having worked with brands like Mango, Massimo Dutti, and Zalando. His vast experience in strategy and assortment planning will support Groyyo’s growth as the company seeks to scale its operations and expand its market reach. Both new leaders are expected to drive the company’s mission to digitize millions of SME manufacturers across Asia.

Smita, an alumna of IIM Kashipur and NMIMS, has years of experience in sourcing, negotiation, and management across the Bangladesh and India regions. She has been instrumental in business operations targeting markets in the UK, Europe, and the U.S. At Groyyo, her focus will be on enhancing existing partnerships with major brands like Mango, Next, and Inditex, and further expanding the company’s footprint in the U.S. market.

Groyyo, founded by Subin Mitra and Pratik Tiwari, aims to empower manufacturing SMEs by introducing technology-driven solutions. The company has already helped hundreds of manufacturers across product categories in ten countries.
