Suraja Yekkar Promoted to Senior Vice President at JSW Steel

Suraja Yekkar has been promoted to Senior Vice President at JSW Steel, overseeing Strategic Global Plant Initiatives where he now leads strategic initiatives for the company’s global steel plant operations. With an impressive tenure of several years at JSW Steel, Suraja has risen through the ranks, taking on progressively senior roles, including managing large-scale projects. He brings a wealth of knowledge in operations management and technical innovations, having successfully overseen multiple pellet plants, sinter plants, and operational blast projects (OBPs).

Prior to his promotion, Suraja served as the Zonal Head for Agglomeration, where he managed a range of operations across pellet plants, sinter plants, and OBPs. Before that, Suraja played a pivotal role in the operations of Hot Strip. His ability to drive operational excellence has been key to maintaining JSW Steel’s leadership position in the steel industry.

Before his extensive career at JSW Steel, Suraja worked at Essar Steel as a Shift Manager in the Hot Strip Rolling Mill at Hazira, Surat. He has also completed advanced leadership programs at Brown University and Cornell University, further honing her strategic leadership and organizational management skills. With his deep expertise in managing complex operations and projects, Suraja’s leadership will continue to play a significant role in JSW Steel’s global growth strategy.
