S N Subrahmanyan has been appointed chairman of LTIMindtree Ltd, a global technology consulting and digital solutions firm within the L&T Group. This leadership change follows the announcement by A M Naik, the founding chairman, to step down at the conclusion of LTIMindtree’s 28th Annual General Meeting held on Wednesday.
Subrahmanyan, who currently serves as vice chairman, will officially assume the role of chairman on June 27, 2024. His new position was confirmed by the board of directors during the AGM. Reflecting on his tenure, A M Naik expressed his pride in the company’s growth and success under his guidance and confidence in Subrahmanyan’s future leadership.
Joining the L&T Infotech board in 2015 and becoming vice chairman in 2017, Subrahmanyan played a crucial role in acquiring Mindtree in 2019 and overseeing the merger with L&T Infotech. Upon his appointment as chairman, Subrahmanyan thanked Naik for his contributions and expressed his commitment to continuing the company’s legacy of excellence.
A M Naik’s career at L&T began as a junior engineer in 1965, leading to his role as chairman and managing director in 2003. His strategic focus on human capital development and IT for business growth earned him significant recognition within the company.
Beyond his corporate achievements, Naik served as chairman of the National Skill Development Corporation and the board of governors at the Indian Institute of Management – Ahmedabad. He has also been actively involved in social causes, pledging 75 percent of his wealth to healthcare, education, and skill development. His societal contributions have been honored with the Padma Vibhushan, the Gujarat Garima Award, and Danish Knighthood.
