Chandrasekar Thyagarajan has been elevated to the role of Chief Financial Officer at Birlasoft Limited. With over 36 years of multifaceted experience in financial planning, statutory and management accounting, business controls, and strategic decision-making, he brings a wealth of expertise to this leadership position. Prior to this elevation, he served as CFO-Designate at Birlasoft, building on his earlier tenure as the company’s CFO from 2020 to 2023.
Before rejoining Birlasoft, Chandrasekar played a key role as Chief Financial Officer at Greaves Electric Mobility, where he helped navigate the fast-evolving electric mobility landscape. His career also includes an illustrious two-decade journey at IBM across India, South Asia, and global growth markets. During his time at IBM, he held several senior leadership roles, including VP Finance & CFO for India/South Asia, COO for Global Business Services in India, and CFO for IBM Daksh, where he consistently drove financial transformation and operational excellence.
Earlier in his career, he held significant finance leadership roles at Kumaran Systems, Karvy Consultants, Pentafour Products, Royal Enfield, Automac Madras, and Pentagon Agency, after beginning his professional journey with Sundaram and Srinivasan Chartered Accountants. His experience across diverse industries has shaped his strong foundation in finance, governance, and strategic planning.
In his elevated role, Chandrasekar will be responsible for strengthening Birlasoft’s financial strategy, enhancing operational efficiency, and supporting the company’s growth vision in the global IT services sector. With his proven leadership in building high-performance teams and aligning financial practices with long-term business objectives, he is expected to play a pivotal role in accelerating Birlasoft’s transformation journey.
