Gopalji Mehrotra Joins ACME Group as Chief Human Resources Officer

Gopalji Mehrotra has been appointed as the Chief Human Resources Officer at ACME Group, a leading innovator in clean and renewable energy solutions. In his new role, he will lead the company’s HR strategy, organizational transformation, and human capital development to support ACME’s high-growth journey aimed at delivering sustainable energy for people and the planet. Based in the Greater Delhi area, he brings with him over three decades of transformative HR leadership across some of India’s most prominent industrial and multinational organizations.

Prior to this, Gopalji served as Head of Human Resources at HPCL-Mittal Energy Limited (HMEL) for nearly seven years. At HMEL, he drove future-readiness initiatives including ventures into renewables and pan-India retail, while spearheading cultural transformation aligned with corporate purpose. His tenure was marked by the creation of a competency framework for the 2030 enterprise, progressive DEI initiatives, leadership succession planning, and an impressive 86% employee satisfaction score on the company’s Great Place to Work journey.

Gopalji’s earlier career includes senior leadership roles as President at Astix, Senior Vice President at Ashok Leyland, Mylan, and Zensar Technologies, where he led people strategy during critical periods of transformation, integration, and expansion. At Kennametal, he played a pivotal role in global HR process redesign, M&A due diligence, and cultural alignment across 17 countries. He was also a key member of the global HR team during the economic crisis of 2008, receiving the Chairman’s Excellence Award for his strategic contributions.

His HR leadership journey began at ITC Limited, where he served for a decade across manufacturing and corporate HR, setting up global talent systems and leading large-scale culture change programs. Known for his expertise in executive coaching (ICF MCC), organization design, and digital HR solutions, Gopalji has been a driving force behind HR innovation and leadership development across industries from FMCG and automotive to pharmaceuticals, IT, and energy.

At ACME Group, Gopalji is set to architect a people-first strategy that fuels innovation, sustains high performance, and nurtures a future-ready workforce.
