Prashant Janaswamy has been appointed Chief Information Officer (CIO) at EET Fuels, the trading name of Essar Oil (UK) and part of Essar Energy Transition. With over two decades of global experience across the UK, US, India, and the Middle East, Prashant joins the company to spearhead its digital transformation strategy, drive enterprise-wide technology modernization, and unlock data-driven value creation.
Throughout his career, Prashant has held key leadership roles such as CIO, CTO, and Chief Data & Automation Officer across industries including energy, oil & gas, and manufacturing. His track record includes successful tenures at Petrofac and GE Power, where he led significant technology transformations focused on cloud adoption, automation, enterprise architecture, and advanced analytics. At Petrofac, he most recently led global data science, AI, and automation efforts, delivering digital solutions across operational excellence, sustainability, and asset integrity.
As CTO at Petrofac, Prashant directed a global modernization program that reduced IT OpEx by 25%, improved service availability to 99.9%, and introduced cloud-based infrastructure across 25 global sites. His earlier contributions at GE Power and GE Digital were instrumental in streamlining ERP integrations, enabling predictive analytics, and accelerating supply chain digitization post-M&A integration across the Middle East and Africa.
At EET Fuels, Prashant will now lead the technology agenda from the company’s Chester headquarters. His role will focus on building a scalable digital foundation, modernizing IT infrastructure, and enabling advanced analytics capabilities to support Essar Energy Transition’s broader vision of achieving net zero and sustainable energy leadership. His appointment signals a strategic shift toward embracing innovation and operational excellence through next-generation technologies.
