Sandip Balakrishnan has been appointed as the Chief Operating Officer at Double Horse – Manjilas Food Tech, one of Kerala’s most trusted FMCG brands with a strong presence across India and international markets. The company, known for its wide range of cereals, flours, spices, and ready-to-cook products, welcomes Sandip in this key leadership role as it embarks on a new phase of growth and innovation.
Sandip joins the company with over two decades of rich experience across procurement, supply chain, sales and operations. He most recently served at Swiggy, where he led the creation and scaling of new B2B business verticals and played a crucial role in supply chain strategy for Swiggy’s private brands. Prior to that, his contributions at iD Fresh Food and Aditya Birla Retail were instrumental in driving cost efficiency, operational excellence, and strategic sourcing across diverse product categories.
This move also marks a homecoming for Sandip, who previously held the position of Head of Procurement at Double Horse. During that tenure, he spearheaded initiatives that significantly reduced BOM, improved working capital, and strengthened vendor ecosystems. His efforts in process optimization and change management were widely recognized, setting benchmarks in procurement excellence for the group.
A postgraduate from IIM Lucknow with additional credentials from Symbiosis and VAMNICOM, Sandip is known for his strategic foresight, collaborative leadership style, and sharp business acumen. In his new role, he will be responsible for driving operational transformation and expanding Double Horse’s footprint in both domestic and global markets.
