Ashish Mittal has been appointed as the Chief Technology Officer at TATA AIG General Insurance Company Limited, bringing with him over two decades of experience spanning technology leadership, digital transformation, and product innovation across multiple industries. Based in Mumbai, he steps into this role after serving as the company’s EVP & Chief Digital Officer, where he spearheaded transformative initiatives in the digital and health technology domains.
Mittal’s career reflects a rich blend of entrepreneurial ventures, corporate leadership, and cross-domain expertise. At TATA AIG, he previously held the position of SVP – Head of Digital & Health Technology, where he drove large-scale digital adoption, improved agility and resilience in systems, and fostered a strong product-driven culture. His earlier leadership as Head of Technology for e-commerce within the insurance sector strengthened customer experience for digital sales and services, setting new benchmarks in the industry.
Before his tenure at TATA AIG, Mittal led technology for Apollo Munich Health Insurance’s digital business, overseeing product development for both B2B and B2C environments while leveraging mobility, cloud, analytics, and artificial intelligence. His entrepreneurial journey includes founding Vaccinebox.com, a health-tech platform aimed at digitizing vaccination records in India, and co-founding Pourbrands, where he developed multichannel retail software and scaled e-commerce operations globally.
His early career spans strategic and consulting roles at Genpact Headstrong Capital Markets, WNS Global Services, and Infosys Technologies, where he managed multimillion-dollar projects in healthcare, capital markets, retail, and life sciences. Across these roles, he has consistently demonstrated a passion for building technology-led businesses and solving complex business problems with simple, intelligent solutions.
