Rajiv Kumar has been elevated to the position of Chief Technology Officer – ITES at Microsoft, marking a significant step in his distinguished 27-year career in AI, cloud strategy, and enterprise transformation. In his new role, Rajiv is driving AI-first, cloud-centric innovation for the IT and ITES sectors, focusing on Copilot, Agentic AI, SaaS IP, and edge ecosystems to deliver measurable business impact. His leadership is steering large-scale process modernization, accelerating GitHub Copilot adoption, and scaling Microsoft’s ITES business with consistent year-on-year growth.
Prior to this elevation, Rajiv served as Senior Director – Enterprise Business at Microsoft, where he led transformation programs that embedded AI into enterprise workflows and enabled customers to realize value through modernization and IP-led solutions. His success in advancing Microsoft’s Copilot Studio, Agentic AI GTMs, and VMware-on-Azure partnerships positioned him as a strategic leader ready to take on the CTO mandate.
Rajiv’s career journey includes an impactful tenure at Google Cloud as Head of Customer Engineering for Banking, Financial Services, Insurance, and Fintech, where he spearheaded UPI modernization, GPay integration, and AI-powered solutions leveraging Gemini AI, Vertex AI, and Google Distributed Cloud. His focus on partner collaboration and high-impact GTM strategies drove significant growth across BFSI and fintech verticals.
Previously, at Wipro, Rajiv led the Microsoft Azure Business Unit to 4x growth and scaled the public cloud business beyond $500M. He delivered landmark projects, including one of the largest public cloud migrations in Germany for a Fortune 500 client, and enhanced Wipro’s standing in global analyst rankings. With earlier leadership roles in telecom and IT transformations for Airtel, MTS, Aircel, and other global enterprises, Rajiv brings deep industry knowledge, global delivery experience, and a proven track record in aligning technology with business outcomes. Certified across Microsoft, AWS, and Google platforms and a member of the Association of Enterprise Architects (AEA), Rajiv continues to champion innovation, customer value, and enterprise-scale transformation in his elevated role at Microsoft.
